Rain poems
Water evaporates up into the sky
forming condensation way up high
To fall to land it precipitates,
it drenches, soaks and penetrates.
Some rain falls as April showers,
this is gentle and best for the flowers.
Some rain falls as heavy downpours
these are annoying and make life pause.
Rain lashes down on the window pane,
but our displeasure is the gardens gain.
Once the sun has returned to the sky,
everything looks refreshed and dry.

The Rain
Evaportation from river and seas
Transpiration from plants and trees
Watervapour is formed this way,
It rises and cools, or so they say,
Condensation then takes place,
Forming clouds ata steady pace.
The nimbus is the one with rain,
It stores it, til it falls again
Growing larger as water becomes more,
Gravity forcing a massive downpour,
Pitter patter s raindrops fall
Shaped like teardrops, not a ball
As slivers shattering from broken glass
And drops of dew on blades of grass
Beautifull to look at, soothing to the ear,
I like to watch, I like to hear,
Being caught out and getting wet
That's not enjoyment and yet ...
It is refreshing and feels so pure
We need the rain of that I'm sure.

Volcano poem
Dormantly sleeping
but the quiet mountain will soon be weeping
eventually the time will arrive
when the mountain starts roaring and desperately thrives
first it will explode of cholking gas
then what was churning lava will be released in a great mass
A thick layer of molten rock
releases a force noone can block
pulling down every window and door
the magnificent magma rolls to the floor
when will this powerful disaster stop
it seems like molten rock will never stop bubbling out of the top
After miles of damage and disruption
The mad volcano will slow down after the terrible eruption
Soon after a long and terrifying wait
It will stop completely but when the cycle will appear we can only debate

Year 7 weather poems
Hurricanes
Hurricanes form over tropical seas
Where the water is over 27 degrees
Warm moist air rises causing a storm
it then grows into a magnificent form
Hurricanes lose their energy near the land
it is often near a beach or some sand
Also known as cyclones, willy willys and typhoons
watch out they could be heading your way soon
moving at 10 - 20 miles per hour
if you're in the eye you'll only get shower
Hurricane Katrina stretched over 500 miles
after it had finished, buildings were left in piles
When the next one strikes we all must hope
That the people in its path all can cope
